Godly Women From the Past (Gladys Aylward Part 2)

Quotes from Gladys Aylward

"I wasn't God's first choice for what I've done for China…I don't know who it was…It must have been a man…a well-educated man. I don't know what happened. Perhaps he died. Perhaps he wasn't willing…and God looked down…and saw Gladys Aylward…And God said - "Well, she's willing."

“If God has called you to China or any other place and you are sure in your own heart, let nothing deter you….Remember, it is God who has called you and it is the same as when He
called Moses or Samuel.”

"My heart is full of praise that one so insignificant, uneducated, and ordinary in every way could be used to His glory for the blessing of His people in poor persecuted China."

Hi Asia!

Thanks for your sweet comments over at my blog.

I read a few weeks ago about your grandfather passing away. I am so sorry to hear that. I hope your time with your family was refreshing to you. I enjoyed looking at the pictures!

I am continuing to enjoy the Godly Women of the Past posts! You must be putting a lot of time into writing them. I read a series of books several years ago about a lot of the women you have written about and I have enjoyed remembering their stories of how God worked in their lives through your posts.

Have a great weekend!

I love Gladys Aylward! Thanks so much for posting these quotes. I found them from a google search of her name.

I wonder how the world would change if we were all so willing to serve God as she was...

Thank you for these quotes. I want my children to have an appreciation of the great Christians of the past. We will be using these quotes in our (home)school.

Thank you for posting this - beautiful! And good luck with your studies, if you have Gladys as a mentor I know you'll do great! I grew up in a missionary/homeschooling family all over the world most recently my folks worked in Nepal for the last 15 years and she was always our hero. A great woman of faith. It's always so encouraging what the Lord can do with the little that we give Him.

Wonderful about Gladys. Has anyone written about Mary Baker Eddy?

Gladys Alward's few words speak volumes of what it means to genuinely belong to Christ, to be called and willingly accept the duty given her...she truly is a Christian, an obedient slave of Christ, a child of God.
